Just in time for Valentine’s Day, I created these layouts based on a photo and a Creative Memories blog post, and it was easy! The Full of Love punch is available now on my Creative Memories website, and I adore it, especially for special layouts like these.
This cute little punch is perfect for pages capturing baby showers, Valentines, anniversaries, weddings, and any of those lovely occasions in your life. I used it to celebrate some of the people I love in a page, including my long-time mentor and my sweet daughter.
I designed two different layouts, one randomizing the hearts on the border, and the other making more of an ombre look. I am in love with both of them, and can’t wait to try other punches with this layout as well. For now, here is how I put together this layout, using the inspiration for the CM blog post in August 2022, which you can find here.
I used the Positive Vibes papers for one layout, and an older, pink tonals and baby girl paper from CM, put out years ago or the other. Any coordinating collections would work great for this layout, however!
How It’s Made
Start with a 12×12 base sheet to coordinate your boarder and mat colors with. For the base of your boarder, cute a 2 and 1/4 x 12 inch strip. I used the Deckle blade to add some texture to the edges. For the middle strip that your hearts will be adhered to, cut a 2 x 12 inch strip out of something the hearts will stand out on.
Then, select various coordinating scraps or sheets of paper to punch your hearts out on. I used parts of the papers I cut the strips out from, as well as some residual scraps I had from the collection. I punched 18-20 sets of hearts out, so I could mix and match well.
Lay out your hearts on the smaller strip in various directions, allowing some of the hearts to hang over the edge. Once you get a layout you like, start adhering them, using the repositional tape runner so you can rub off the excess and move the hearts around if needed. I used the center of the punched out heart clusters to add even more little hearts between the clusters on the boarder.
Once you have the hearts adhered, flip over the strip so you can trim off the hearts that are hanging over the edge of the strip. Adhere the heart strip onto the larger strip you cut before, then adhere that to where you would like it on your page/base paper.
Mat your photos on coordinating paper or cardstock and then attach those to your page. Embellish and journal as preferred.
