Our April Virtual Crop is continuing on with another fun layout! We’ll be creating this striking scrapbook page, based on the Creative Memories blog. Be sure to download printable instructions below as well!
What You’ll Need to Create this Striking Scrapbook Page:
Select various designer papers and/or cardstocks for your layout. You’ll need 1 for your base that is 12″ x 12″, and others to create your strips.
If you are going by the original CM Sketch, you will need your Custom Cutting System, mat, circle patterns, and blades to create your divots and circles.
You’ll need your other basic tools, like the 12 inch trimmer and adhesives to help you get your striking scrapbook page together.
To finish your layout off, select other things you can use to decorate it with, like punches, borders, stickers, and embellishments.
How To Create this Striking Scrapbook Page:
Begin by cutting your 4 strips of paper, each sized 10-1/2″ x 1-1/4″. After you have cut all of those, use the smallest circle of your Custom Cutting System to create the divots on the ends. To do this, use the inside of your smallest circle and the red blade to cut a half-circle from the end of each strip.
Once you have all of your divots created, adhere your strips to your base as shown, 1 strip at the top and the other 3 towards the bottom in a stack.
Mat your 6″ x 4″ photo on coordinating paper and adhere between your top and bottom strips towards one side of the page.
If desired, you can cut more circles out for your embellishments. Use the outside of your smallest circle to create 3, or you can use your circle cutter to create 4″ circles. Adhere them to your page. (As you can see, I opted for bowling pins instead.)
Finish off by adding embellishments and journaling to your striking scrapbook page.
