Create A Serene Scrapbook Page In 30 Minutes

For our final challenge of the April Virtual Crop, we’ll be tearing some paper! Check out how I made this serene scrapbook page, based on the Creative Memories blog.

What You Need To Create This Serene Scrapbook Page:

To piece together this serene scrapbook page, you will need coordinating papers, for a base and for your torn pieces. I used my current favorite collection called Serene Waters.

For tools, you will want your 12 inch trimmer, adhesives, and a ruler of some sort, as this was very helpful for creating the torn lines. I used my Creative Memories Zero Centering Ruler.

How To Create This Serene Scrapbook Page:

Pick your base paper or cardstock for your serene scrapbook page. Then pick out your paper or papers for your torn pieces. I used 1 piece that matched very well, but you can use various scraps and papers if you wish.

To tear the pieces, I lined my paper edge up under my Zero Centering Ruler so I could see the 1″ mark. Then I pulled the paper up so that the white tear appeared on the strip, as pictured here.

Once you have 8-10 strips torn, begin layering them on your base, starting from the bottom so the torn part shows on top of the strip beneath it.

Add a border to the top of your strips. You can use a laser cut border, border sticker, or punch one out with your Border Maker System, or a Border Punch.

Mat a 6″ x 4″ photo and adhere it on top of your torn pieces. Then trim 3 photos to 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and adhere at the top of your serene scrapbook page.

Embellish and journal to complete your page!

I truly enjoyed this layout, and it took me no time at all to complete. I think it turned out stunning, and I hope yours does too!
