We’re taking on this week’s challenge with a creative scrapbook layout that you can make work for any theme! You can see the original post for this layout’s instructions on the Creative Memories blog here. You can also download printable instructions below to save for later!
What You Need for this Creative Scrapbook Layout
You will need coordinating papers and cardstock.
For tools, have your essentials nearby, like your 12 inch trimmers and adhesives. I used my scissors to create the mailbox on my page.
You will also want any coordinating stickers, embellishments, and borders to wrap up your page.
How To Create this Creative Scrapbook Layout
To create this layout, select a 12″ x 12″ base paper. You can gut the center of the base if you desire since most of it will be covered by another sheet.
You will then need another sheet of paper, trimmed to 11-5/8″ x 11-5/8″ and adhere on top of the base.
I kept my borders at the bottom of the layout simple by using a couple of laser cut borders from the US of Yay collection. To create the border per the sketch, trim a piece of paper to 12″ x 3″ and adhere near the bottom of your layout. Trim another piece to 12″ x 2-1/2″ and adhere on top of the other piece. Finally, trim another piece to 12″ x 2″ and adhere on top of the other 2 pieces. Add border stickers and/or other punched out borders on top of those to decorate it more.
You can run with the theme of your creative scrapbook layout and make something of your choice to hold the photo at the top, left. The sketch is a house created from a 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ mat. I created a mailbox with a similar size by rounding the top and adding a flag. Mat a 3-1/2″ x 5″ photo and adhere to the center of your created object.
Add a 6″ x 4″ mat toward the top, right. Mat another 6″ x 4″ photo and adhere beneath the mat.
Wrap up your creative scrapbook layout by adding embellishments and journaling.
