In our Summer Scrappy Camp, we are plugging through the challenges! This week’s theme is all about circle and getting creative with them. So, we’re making a neon scrapbook border with circles to kick it off!
This genius technique originally comes from Meggan Jacks, and I wanted to put it all into a post so all of the instructions are in one spot for you!
Here are the tools you’ll need to make this neon scrapbook border:
To make this neon scrapbook border, you will need a way to cut a 2″ circle. I highly recommend the Custom Cutting System and Circle Patterns to do this, or this Circle Cutter. If you are using the Custom Cutting System, you will need your medium sized circle pattern and blue blade.
You will also need about 3 different shades of paper or cardstock.
Have a good trimmer to cut the circles evenly in 4ths. I love mine that you can find here!
I also found my Repositional Tape Runner very helpful when adhering my circle pieces down because you can move them if they are uneven on your page.
How to Create This Neon Scrapbook Border
Begin by cutting a 2″ circle from each of your 3 colored papers, so you have 3 different circles.
Cut your circles in half evenly. Hint – if you nestle your circle into the “groove” of your 12 inch trimmer, it will make it even on your trimmer!
Cut that half in half again, so you have quarters of your circles.
Once you have all of your circles cut in 4ths, you will now start lining them up on your page, OR you can cut a strip of paper to adhere them to before putting them right on your page. Be sure to start with the center of your page and work your way down and up. Alternate your colors and designs to give it a dynamic look.
Once you get to the end of your lines, trim off the excess hanging over your page/paper strip.
Once you trim off your excess, you are done with your awesome neon scrapbook border.
