When the holidays roll around, I’m always trying to come up with a touching gift for people on my list. This year, I am creating 8×8 albums for our parents and grandparents by using a fast formula recipe to get them done quickly, but still look unique and gorgeous! Here’s how:
Noreen Smith, awesome Product Development Creative Manager for Creative Memories, put together this amazing fast formula recipe for creating 8×8 albums in no time and few resources. I was inspired by her creativity and decided to tackle the feat of completing four 8×8 albums for Christmas gifts this year!
What You’ll Need To Create These 8×8 Albums:
All you need to put together an 8×8 album is a pack of Creative Memories 12×12 papers, 8×8 pages, your 12 inch trimmer, adhesive, and any additional embellishments and stickers you will want to add to make it pretty. Once your pages are complete, you can pop them in one of CM’s fabulous 8×8 albums and give the perfect gift!
You will also need Noreen’s awesome recipe formula, which I have put at the button below for your convenience. It gives you all of the measurements and layouts you need to put it all together. Get it below:
How To Create 8×8 Albums:
Using the guide you downloaded, you will go through each sheet of paper in your pack (12 total), and cut according to the diagram. Tip – for the papers that have a pattern that needs to go a certain direction, cut one sheet so the patter is one way, and another going the other way. This way, you can use the mat/piece how you need to on specific pages while mixing and matching. (Watch the video below to see what I mean.)
Once all of your papers are cut according to the guide, you will want to make sure they are sorted into their piles so you can mix and match, then pull out your 8×8 pages and start laying out your pages according to the layouts on the guide! Note: in the first set of 2 layouts, the first page is meant to be the first page, and the second page is meant to be the last page. (Again, see the video below to see what I’m talking about.)
You will go through the layouts twice and end up with 24 pages ready to go to create your 8×8 album! The best part? Once you get rolling, it doesn’t take long at all!
Check out the guide for your full list of instructions and other fun tips! Like using a border maker and using stickers certain ways. Most importantly, have fun!
