I had an opportunity to create this beautiful scrapbook page in 30 minutes, and it turned out absolutely gorgeous! I found the original sketch on the Creative Memories blog and it fit well in with the photos I had from my beautiful friends’ vow renewal. The colors in this celebration’s photos worked incredibly well with the papers I used. I hope you can use these scrapbook page instructions to make a beautiful layout quickly as well!
What I Used to Create This Scrapbook Page
I scavenged through my papers to try to use up some of the dwindling collections I had. Spring collections, like Spring Medley from Creative Memories and the vivacious Glowing Gardens papers really drew this layout together.
You will also need a Circle Cutter or Custom Cutting System and circle patterns. The 13×13 Cutting Mat was very helpful for not only cutting out my circles, but for lining up my elements on the page.
Coordinating embellishments and stickers are needed to help top your page off. I used a coordinating sticker from the All My Love Collection to even create my title on the page.
How To Make This Scrapbook Page in 30 Minutes
Start with picking out your papers. This is sometimes the hardest part for me, as I have so many. Luckily they are nice an organized so I know right where to go to find what I need for whatever theme(s) I’m working into my scrapbook page in 30 minutes. You can check out more tips on organizing those in my post here.
Decide which pieces of your choices will be used for the base, circles, strips on the sides, and for matting your photo.
With the paper you want to create your bottom strips on the sides of your page with, trim each strip 12″ x 1-1/2″. You will need 2, one for each end of your page. Next trim down the your paper you chose for your smaller strips to be layered on top of those to 12″ x 1″.
Adhere your strips to each side of your base page, layering how you would like. I did move my bottom pieces away from the edge, so the base showed on either side of the page. Adhere your more narrow strips on top of those.
Next, take your Circle Cutter and set it to 5″. You can learn more tips about the Circle Cutter in my video here. You can also use your Custom Cutting System and circle patterns by using the medium and largest circles in your circle pattern trio and the red blade for each to get 5″ and 6″. With the paper you decided to use for your circles, cut one circle out at 5″, then set your Circle Cutter to 6″ and cut another.
Arrange your circles on your base in the way you wish. I suggest adhering them after you see your photos on them first to make sure you like them that way.
Trim your photos to the sizes you need for your layout. Feel free to go by the sketch in the directions, or similar, or do what you need to do to fit them. Mat your larger photo that will go towards the top.
Once you have all of your pieces together, adhere down your circles and photos. Embellish and journal. I think journaling is very important for remembering those memories down the road. Be sure to include who, what, where, when, so your page can tell the whole story. Pretend you are writing for someone who will see it and it can explain what is going on if you aren’t there to tell it.
